Welcome to A Pinch of Grace!
I am so excited to have a place to share my love for food freedom, cooking and family with with world. I am a mother to a bright-eyed little girl, a wife, and a registered dietitian living in southern Arizona. I am also a certified diabetes educator and trained chef, recipe developer and lover of photography. I spend part of my week at a local endocrinology practice, as an outpatient dietitian, helping people let go of diet rules, learn to accept their bodies and improve both their diabetes and relationship with food. The rest of my time is spent running around after my toddler and getting her to help in the kitchen.
My story is one with many twists and turns. But, it always comes back to the food.
I like to pair traditional techniques with modern recipes, making special meals the satisfy all your senses. I am really into creating seasonal dishes using local finds and I can’t wait to share some of my creations with you!
It is important to me that food be approachable and allow for some creativity, as there are so many wonderful ways to prepare a dish. I hope to give you a starting point, provide some motivation, and share some information about food that makes you excited to eat it.
This site is for the everyday cook. My recipes are not complicated, but I like to focus on cooking from (mostly) scratch. Hopefully this site will allow those who have gotten away from cooking to fall in love with the process again, increasing the variety in their food choices and to regain the pleasure of eating.
I also like to share articles and thoughts on eating intuitively, it is a large part of my professional career and passion. Helping people breaking free from the belief that food has to be “good” or “bad” and helping guide others to live more balanced in the middle.
